Thing 13- Online Conference

July 12th, 2010 · 1 Comment · Uncategorized

I’m not sure exactly why Thinking Outside the Box-Skateboard was part of an online conference.  I understand that the teacher does a great job on this hands on project of building a skateboard.  My problem was, I kept waiting for him to make connections on how to incorporate these ideas into other classes.  He did talk a little at the end about using technology but 99% of this video was about the steps the students went through.  I was just disappointed because I thought I would learn more ideas about how to “Think Outside the Box.”  When I look at other people’s blogs, I hope to find some more beneficial conferences for me.

That is frustrating that the conference you watched was disappointing…..sorry :( I was thinking about choosing that conference and am glad I didn’t. If you have any spare time and want to check out another video conference the one about nurturing 21st century history teachers is pretty interesting, and gives some cool examples. I really like the idea about making the students current events into an online newspaper.
